Risk Management Re-Imagined
Risk managers, attorneys, nurses and providers are encouraged to attend this informative healthcare risk management program. It is designed to educate professionals on current issues affecting healthcare organizations. Participants will learn strategies to accomplish goals to improve patient care and mitigate risk/liability for their organization. Learning objectives include:
- Identify the four pillars of the yellow light framework.
- Describe the attributes of a leader based on those pillars.
- Discuss how the yellow light framework can prevent burnout and strengthen decision making.
- Explain the value of disclosure and early resolution programs after adverse events supported by data and case studies.
- Understand the considerations to conduct a successful disclosure and early resolution program.
- Discuss how to get leadership support for an early resolution program

Explore some popular uses of AI in healthcare.

Examine certain important risks and benefits of AI use in healthcare.

Discuss selected key considerations for successful AI implementation in healthcare.
- Discuss the current state of Behavioral Health (BH) care in acute care settings and contrast with best practices.
- Describe the barriers to providing safe care to BH patients in acute care and reasonable solutions
- Describe at least two strategies that can minimize the risk of harm to BH patients and staff and work to provide a safe quality care.
- Provide resources to consider adopting a policy with respect to body camera usage by your security department and a policy for other recordings.
- Review the current law regarding minor consents.
- Receive pointers on how to handle minor behavioral or mental health patients in your ER and what can be discussed with a parent or guardian.
- Review current status of agency law and actions you can take to reduce potential liability.
